During his Bachelor project in 2016, Julius gained experience in Analytical Chemistry (fatty acid analysis via gas chromatography), Phytoplankton Physiology (using Water-PAM (Walz) to determine the photosynthetic yield of a given phytoplankton community) and Phytoplankton Taxonomy. Additionally, he improved his skills in statistics and programming in R and contributed significantly to a microcosm experiment with natural phytoplankton community and Daphnia. Julius was supervised by PD Dr. Patrick Fink and me.
